    We purchased the 12' model to fit in the yard. I did much customer review reading and recieved a quite goodly education from it all, considering I've never owned a pool. I actually purchased the pool from...a nationally known department store chain, for much less than others' prices, plus I ordered it online and picked it up at the local store, saving on no shipping charges. You really need a Level area to set the pool. I highly suggest 2-3" of fine sand(I used one ton, delivered, and had leftovers) for a base. I backfilled and levelled and spent 6 hours removing an old stump and roots. I over filled the backfill side 1 1\2"higher than level to accomodate the earth being compacted by the great weight of water(8# per gallon)...I was lucky that it actually worked out perfectly when it stopped compressing, at "level".
