There was no going back and forth between brands this time around. Once I purchased my very first Pelican case I knew that this is what I would use from this point on. Pelican cases are extremely durable and light weight considering how thick they are. My most resent purchase was the Pelican #1620. Three of the four sides have fold down handles with a rubber grip insert. The 1620 has four latches on the lid to keep the lid down and secure. This specific case is about the size of a medium suitcase on the inside but 12" deep roughly.I do not do a tremendous amount of traveling, but what traveling I have done the baggage handelers have never failed to destroy every piece of luggage I own. I have bought cheap sets of luggage as well as some thicker, harder pieces of luggage and I always get ripped or torn fabric, crushed corners, wheels broken off and handles broken. I have no idea what cliff they throw luggage down but the pelican case always...
