This CD is misleading. The product does not tell you on the packaging that each peice is a snippet of the full movement. Sometimes the tracks only go for 1 or 2 minutes before fading out. It is just a sample CD. Don't Buy.

Yes, this is a sampler. But, Oh, what a sampler. All the great EMI artists shine. This one's destined to be a cult classic. Berio's Ballo is well worth the price of the whole 6cd's. There are other 20cd sets containing full versions of of some of these works; but, who in the 21st century has time to listen to 70 minutes of running up and down the scales controlled dissonance ending in alternating arpeggio/cresendo bombast. Yes, I'm so happy they whittled down the Shostakovich to 6 minutes of beautiful piano music. Don't get me started....(Actually, I love the whole of the Piano#2 by Shosh). Get this because we need an introduction to 20th century composers, as most of us were brainwashed into thinking that you only needed Bach, Brahms & Beethoven to last you the whole of the rest of your life.
What more need I say? Arvo Part forever!
